It took 9 days for the Dolphin to make the forty three mile voyage from Saybrook to Wethersfield. Kit began to be be very frustrated by the slow speed the ship is moving by. Kit feels like everybody in the ship except for John Holbrook begrudge her. John Holbrook finds out Kit can read and what she reads are plays which they don't read that. The next morning the Dolphin scudded the last few miles and arrived at Wethersfield. Almost by the end of the chapter Kit reveals to Captain Eaton that she never informed to, her Aunt Rachel that she was going to go and live with her. And Captain Eaton tells her that he will deliver her safe and sound but that he takes no responsibility for her coming.
